This recounts my last full day in Hong Kong.

So the whole time we were in Hong Kong, I was craving these egg cake things that are hot off the street. Well, normally, there is this one stand that sells them that is quite a bit of a walk from our hotel, but on this day, when we had just descended from the hotel (about to walk to that corner stand, maybe a 10 minute walk away), there was an old man selling them RIGHT in front of our hotel. I think the word for this is destiny.

It is hard to accurately capture the deliciousness of this stuff.

Hot and fresh!

So satisfied! Craving fulfilled.

My uncle / cousins / grandma then picked us up for lunch (yes, eating one thing after another). My cousin Steffi loves eating.

Sheryl got cornrows in Malaysia (they were vacationing there).

Showin’ off the locks.

A feisty little one, she is.

Dancing in the streets…

Creepy? A little.

Sheryl is an artist =)

I ordered some salmon sashimi – the only sashimi that I like, and so so good. Four fatty chunky pieces.

Sushi plate.

Really tasty codfish. Seasoning/flavor were spot on; was very tender though still with an apt amount of texture.

She fell down.

Daddy’s girls.

Sheryl showed me all the “fairy” books.

My uncle took me to the camera/video shop to pick out a new lens. This photo was my testing out a wide-angle lens. Pretty nice (didn’t end up getting it though).

Testing out zoom on one of the Tamron lenses.

Oh yeah, we are very much related.

She gave me a balloon.

We went to CitySuper, the best grocery store ever! (They sell so much international food, it’s great)

I like this fruit a lot! Dragonfruit, I think. The inside is white with little black seeds.

Rows and rows of pastries and breads.

Man’s best friend (fatty little weiner dog, that one is).

Border collie.

Haha, I love it.

Sheryl put this toy next to me. Naturally, I took a picture of it.

More displays of artistic ability.

A very modern-looking light fixture, reminiscent of fences or latches.

Ah!! My uncle’s sweet tele lens.

We all went out for a last big family dinner.

This tasted funny. I don’t even know what it is. A sea snail perhaps?

nat,
FYI
The sea snail is a CONCH

dad”
There you have it.

Racerback clams, or something like that. I really liked the garlicky, slightly sour flavor of this.

This dish reckoned my approval.

Shark fin soup. I do not condone the killing of sharks, but this soup was pretty tasty (and if you’re Asian, you have most definitely had this delicacy before).

Egg-Tofu. Very fine and soft.

Fried rice steamed in a lotus plant. Good aromas and flavors.

Fish!

Fish!

My aunt bought this little bikini set for one of my cousin’s dolls. She & I proceeded to dress up my water bottle with it. Turned out quite nicely, if I might say so myself.

Dessert. Some kind of gelatin.

Black seasame, Taro, and Vanilla flavored ice creams.

Watermelon and the dragonfruit to which I referred earlier.
Jet lag makes for quite mundane, uninteresting captions (or my laziness, but now I have something to blame it on, which makes life so much easier).
